Greetings from the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) in Umatilla and Morrow Counties! This spring season has been filled with opportunities to share the Gospel, disciple young people, and encourage students to live out their faith both on and off the field.
FCA ministry is currently active in 8 schools throughout the region, supported by 12 faithful volunteers serving 24 different teams. Weekly FCA gatherings and lunch meetings have continued to provide a place where students can hear the message of Christ, build relationships, and grow in their faith. Across these ministries, average weekly attendance reached 508 students, with 142 of them making first-time commitments to Christ this spring!
One of the highlights of the season was FCA Weekend Camp held over Memorial Day Weekend, where 120 students gathered for a time of worship, teaching, fellowship, and fun. Thanks to the dedication of 19 counselors and 8 cooks, students experienced a life-changing weekend centered on Jesus. We had 85 first-time commitments to Christ during this amazing weekend. We are so thankful for the prayers and support that helped make this event possible.
Throughout the school year, FCA lunch meetings also remained a strong point of connection. At Hermiston High School alone, approximately 60 students attended weekly, creating opportunities for Christ-centered conversations and spiritual growth. Special events and guest speakers challenged students to take the next step in their faith, with many responding to invitations to follow Christ.
As summer begins, we are preparing for additional ministry opportunities through multi-sport camps in Idaho and Washington. Leaders will be taking students to these camps to receive not only athletic training but also to build friendships and, most importantly, hear the life-changing message of the Gospel. Please pray for safe travels, open hearts, and continued spiritual growth among the students attending.
Thank you all for your continued prayers and support. Your partnership is helping reach the next generation wth the hope of Jesus, and we are excited to see what God will continue to do in the months ahead!
